Frequently Asked Questions

Helping You Feel Confident About Your Pet’s Care

What is considered a pet emergency?

A pet emergency includes situations such as difficulty breathing, seizures, collapse, active bleeding, broken bones, trauma, toxic ingestion, sudden pain, frequent vomiting or diarrhea, and any sudden change in your pet’s behavior or condition.

Do I need an appointment for emergency services?

No appointment is needed. Our emergency services operate on a walk-in basis, so you can bring your pet in as soon as an urgent situation arises.

If possible, we recommend calling ahead so our team can prepare for your arrival and provide immediate guidance. However, if your pet requires urgent or life-threatening care, please come in right away.

How quickly will my pet be seen?

Pets are evaluated through a triage process, meaning they are seen based on medical priority rather than order of arrival. Critical or life-threatening cases are assessed immediately to ensure life-saving care is provided as quickly as possible. Less urgent cases may experience a wait time depending on the severity of other patients being treated.

Do you provide overnight or continuous monitoring?
Yes. Pets in critical condition may receive 24-hour monitoring and stabilization to ensure their condition remains stable and complications are addressed quickly.
What if I’m not sure it’s an emergency?
You can always call us. We are open 24/7, and a team member is always available to answer your call. Over the phone, we can help you decide whether your pet needs to come in or if it can safely wait.
How much do emergency services cost?
Emergency care costs vary depending on your pet’s condition, diagnostics, and treatment required. Our team will discuss recommended care and estimated costs with you whenever possible.
What should I bring with me in an emergency?

If available, please bring:

  • Your pet’s medical records
  • A list of current medications
  • Information about what happened, including possible injury, toxin exposure, and timing
  • For potential toxin exposures (such as chocolate), bringing a sample of the substance and its packaging is very helpful. For gastrointestinal or urinary concerns, a fresh stool or urine sample may assist the veterinarian if diagnostic testing is needed.

If you do not have these items, do not delay coming in. Your pet’s care always comes first.
